The gospel is what Christianity is all about. We all know that the gospel is the message that we accept when we’re first saved, but what relevance does it have in our lives after that initial conversion? The gospel is not only what saves us, but it is what changes us and what gives us hope. The gospel is the message of the hope of Jesus and can be applied to all of our sin and suffering. What does it mean to apply the gospel? How is that different than simply trying or believing harder?
This is an introduction to Biblical Counseling and Biblical Interpretation course. The goal is to teach each of you how to see the gospel in the story of the Bible and to apply the gospel to your own story so that you will be able to better apply it to the lives of others.
Pastor Fletcher Lang from CoaH Somerville will be leading us through a 6 week course on applying the gospel to our own lives. Pastor Fletcher is in the final stages of completing a Doctorate of Ministry in Applied Theology.
We will be reading CrossTalk by Mike Emlet together over these weeks with some additional optional reading. You can buy CrossTalk here. You’ll be expected to come prepared to discuss the questions at the end of each chapter.
